Almost Los Alamos2010 Media: oil on canvas Size: 30" x 30" Price: $900.00 Los Alamos New Mexico is built on, and surrounded by, finger mesas and canyons that were once inhabited by tens of thousands of Native Americans. Their dugout rooms, post-holes, storage areas and spiritual entry holes pock the walls of the low mesas wherever you look. The area is a colorful sand and stone high desert, interlaced with low mesas, scrub and washes. This original oil painting was inspired by it, and documents one of the mesasjust before rounding the corner for the last stretch into the research town which still sits on that plateau. |
